UBC IMSA SOCK WARS

UBC IMSA SOCK WARS

SAFETY ITEM OF THE DAY

WILL BE POSTED ONLY IN KHANE

UPDATES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. Due to the abundance of killings in the first week, there will be a safety item only for this Saturday Jan 30th  (no further saturdays from this one on).  The immunity will go from 6PM-11:59PM tonight.  The safety item is a watch of any kind or colour worn on your wrist (very simple).  Happy socking!

2. Check the Graveyard frequently to see who has been eliminated!

RULES AND REGULATIONS

DEFINITIONS

-  Socker- the person attempting to eliminate a player from the game (aka hitman)

-  Sockee- the person trying to avoid being eliminated from the game (aka victim)

-  Safety Item- something that makes you immune from being socked (see rules 7-8)

-  Safe Zone- a place where you are immune from being socked

RULES

  1. The 2010 edition of SOCK WARS begins at exactly 12:01 A.M. on Monday, January 25th 2010.
  2. All socks used in this game must be clean (unused), empty (you may not place anything inside the sock to add weight) and single (you can not tie any together for extended reach).  Failure to comply with these rules will result in disqualification.
  3. The sock must remain in your hand while socking a potential victim.  You may not throw your sock at a victim; this will result in a nullified kill, and other potential consequences.
  4. You may not sock anyone above the neck, or in any private areas of your target (gender specific).
  5. No socking in any safe zone:
    1. Starting at the south corner of North Parkade, extending until Walter Gage Road (street included) and ending at the corner of east mall (street not included) from 5:30-7:30 P.M. every day that UBC Khane takes place.  On Wednesdays, the hours are extended from 5:30-9:30 P.M.  On Saturdays, this safe zone is not active.  Refer to map below.  Shaded area is the safe zone (yes this includes the inside of Brock Hall, and therefore the Khane rooms too).

  1. No socking during ANY UBC Khane event (Thunderclan Cup events, Rec. sports, education session, chai chat, IMSA meeting, etc.).
  2. Safety Items are ONLY ACTIVE FROM THE MOMENT KHANE ENDS UNTIL 11:59 P.M. THAT SAME NIGHT.  THERE IS NO SAFETY ITEM FROM MIDNIGHT UNTIL KHANE TIME.  Safety Items must be visible to the naked eye (you can not claim you had your Safety Item in your bag). This means:
    1. If you are still in the Khane room after the Safe Zone times, but wearing the safety item, you are safe.
    2. As soon as midnight strikes, the Safety Item is nullified.
    3. THERE IS NO SAFETY ITEM FROM 12:00 A.M. UNTIL KHANE TIME.
    4. There will be no safety items on Saturdays.
  3. Safety Items will only be posted IN KHANE.  If you do not go to Khane that day, you will not know the Safety Item.  Therefore, possible alliances may be made between hitmen.  It is understood that people may have classes during this time (therefore you would better make an alliance with people you trust, or go to Khane daily)! All is fair in love and war.  No exceptions can be made.
  4. No hitman may be allowed to enter the room or car of any victim without verbal consent (either an invite, or accepted entry - yes, I will give you a ride OR ill meet you inside my place/room, etc.)
  5. When a hitman socks their victim, the hitman must report the kill to Faizal Shivji within the first hour via PHONE CALL ONLY.  If I do not pick up the first time, you may text me your kill. Failure to report within the first hour will lead to nullification of the kill.  When reporting:
    1. Tell the time the kill happened.
    2. Include a description of the kill (this is your chance to BRAG and show off your hitman talents).  This must be via text message or facebook inbox (preferred).  There will be a prize for most creative kill.  For example:  victim- Farooq Shariff; description- Killed at the Lil Wayne concert while he thought we were meeting up to grab a drink at the intermission.
    3. These kills must be reported to Faizal Shivji - (778) 895-7765.
  6. If any hitman kills 3 victims in a calendar day (between 12:00 A.M. and 11:59 P.M. of that day), they are immune from being socked for the remainder of that day, AS WELL AS THE ENTIRE NEXT DAY (all the way until 11:59 P.M. of the next day).  Any hitman that achieves this will be named to the 2010 UBC IMSA Sock Wars tier 1 ALL-STAR team, and will receive a prize.
  7. Any hitman that kills a member of the ALL-BOUNTY team will be named to the 2010 UBC IMSA Sock Wars tier 2 ALL-STAR team (potentially tier 1 if made via most creative kill, or if two ALL-BOUNTY Members are killed by the same hitman).
  8. All rules are subject to change under the discretion of Faizal Shivji.
  9. All conflicts will be resolved only by Faizal Shivji.  Report conflicts via phone call.
